Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 8, 2026
The short version
We're Shoreline Landscaping. We run a small website, and we only collect what we need to talk to you about your property.
- We collect basic contact details when you fill out a form on this site or email us. We use them to respond to you. We do not sell them.
- We use Squarespace's built-in analytics to understand how the site is used. That data is aggregate — it doesn't identify you personally.
- We keep what we have for as long as we have an active relationship with you, then we delete it.
- You can ask us what we have on file, and you can ask us to delete it. The email is at the bottom of this page.
If that's all you needed, you can stop reading. The full version is below.
1. Who we are
This Privacy Policy describes how Shoreline Landscaping LLC ("Shoreline Landscaping," "we," "us," "our") collects and uses information when you visit our website at shorelinelandscaping.com (the "Site") or otherwise interact with us in connection with the Site.
We are a landscape design, install, and maintenance practice based in Honolulu, Oʻahu, Hawaiʻi.
Email: hello@shorelinelandscaping.com
2. Information we collect
We collect the following categories of information:
a. Information you give us
When you fill out a contact form on the Site, request a consultation, or email us directly, we collect what you choose to tell us. That typically includes:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your phone number (if you provide it)
- The property address or location you want to discuss
- A description of the work you're considering
- Any other information you include in your message
You don't have to give us any of this information to browse the Site. You only give us this information if you choose to contact us.
b. Information collected automatically
When you visit the Site, our website host (Squarespace) automatically collects certain technical information from your device and browser, including:
- IP address
- Browser type and version
- Operating system
- The pages on the Site you visit and how you got there
- The date and time of your visit
- General geographic location (typically city- or region-level, derived from IP address)
This information is used for site analytics and security. It is not used to identify you personally.
c. Cookies and similar technologies
Squarespace uses cookies and similar technologies to operate the Site, remember site preferences, and produce aggregate analytics. You can set your browser to refuse cookies; some parts of the Site may not function as intended if you do.
We do not currently use third-party advertising cookies or run targeted advertising.
If we add additional analytics or tracking tools in the future (for example Google Analytics), we will update this Privacy Policy to reflect that change.
3. How we use the information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To respond to your inquiry or consultation request
- To prepare for an initial conversation or site visit
- To follow up on conversations we've had with you
- To operate, maintain, and improve the Site
- To prevent and address fraud, abuse, or security incidents
- To comply with our legal obligations
We do not use your information to send unsolicited marketing emails. If we ever launch a newsletter or marketing communication, it will be opt-in only.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information.
We share information only in the following limited circumstances:
- With service providers who help us operate the Site (for example, Squarespace, our website host; the email provider we use to communicate with you; and any scheduling or CRM tool we may use). These providers are permitted to use your information only to perform services for us.
- With professional advisors (such as our attorney or accountant) where appropriate and confidential.
- If required by law — for example, in response to a subpoena, court order, or other lawful request from a government authority.
- To protect our rights or the safety of others, if we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary.
- In a business transition — if Shoreline Landscaping is ever acquired or merged with another business, your information may be transferred as part of that transition. We will provide notice if that happens.
5. How long we keep information
We keep your information for as long as we have an active relationship with you, and for a reasonable period afterward to maintain records of work completed and to comply with our legal obligations (typically up to seven years for business records).
If you contact us and we do not enter into a working relationship, we will delete or anonymize identifying information from inactive inquiries within a reasonable period, generally within twenty-four months, unless you ask us to keep it on file.
You can ask us to delete your information at any time, subject to the legal exceptions below.
6. Your choices and your rights
You can:
- Ask us what we have on file about you. Email us, and we'll send you a summary within a reasonable period (typically within 30 days).
- Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate.
- Ask us to delete information. We'll honor the request unless we are legally required to keep it (for example, records related to a completed project for tax and warranty purposes).
- Decline cookies in your browser settings.
